My New Fix; Black Pink

Black Pink is an up and coming YG Entertainment girl group. It leaves to wonder if this is YG's attempt to have a girl group that can rival 2Ne1's success. The girls of Black Pink are great but they are nowhere near the level of previous YG girl groups. I find each member to be quite beautiful but only one of them stands out to me. Meaning the girls dont flow together yet. Can't blame them they debuted the same year 2Ne1 said Goodbye. I listened to "Whistle", wasn't bad. The raps were good and I like how often they use English in their lyrics. They seem to have a better grasp of my native language than most other Korean singers. Which is plesant as I didn't have to cringe when they spoke it.

The group features 22 year old Kim Ji-Soo, who will be the new MC for Inkigayo. The first non-Korean YG family member Lalisa Manoban at 21 years old. Jennie Kim (21) who was featured on G-Dragon's "Black". We have New Zealand born Roseanne Park aka Rose.

The girls have a future and they seem to branching out.

I will continue to update 2 times a week like I have been. If I have time I will increase the length of the posts and the quantity.

Bye Bye

4Minute: No Hate

4Minute
Recently listened to “Hate” and “Crazy”. They were hard but wish the beat was a beat rougher. That would have made the songs even better. I like the girls in the group, they seem to have great chemistry. Behind 2Ne1 this group is my favorite group from Korea. I don’t listen to a lot of K-pop but when I do its usually those two groups. Nam Ji-hyun was my favorite member of the group as not only is beautiful but she can sing.
I really enjoy their vocals and just found out the group disbanded last year. It seemed like the group members butted heads and decided to end the group with only Hyuna resigning with A Cube Entertainment. I don’t know much about this group but I am glad I found their music. It’s great to listen to when I do cardio. I expect Hyuna to do a lot as she appears to be the best known member. Time will only tell how these women will survive in solo careers.

Hyuna the only one who remained loyal to the company. She released an EP in the latter half of 2016 and appeared at award shows.

Heo Ga-yoon signed with BS Company to be an actress as she has previously appeared in a few MBC shows like Top Gear Korea and Let’s Eat 2. IN 2016 she debuted in her first film Father, Daughter as a supporting character.

Jeon Ji-yoon joined JS E&M as a solo artist, debuting her solo career with the stage name “Jenyer” releasing her first album in the same year.

Kwon So-hyun is with 935 Entertainment as an actress. She has stated she will be starring in a Korean variety show in the near future.

Nam Ji-hyun joined Artist Company and going on to star in the MBC drama My Little Baby

Kara is over but I have hope for one member

Kara has been around since 2007 but this year they announced their disbandment. I'm not a fan of the group but I am a fan of HeoYoung-ji. Her smile is very cute and her energy brings you up. Only 2 of the original members lasted until 2016. The group seemed to have a lot of trouble with their company which doesn't seem rare in the K-pop world.

Heo Youngji at a Kara fansigning on 30 August 2014.jpgHeo Young-ji was a supporting actress in the 2016 drama Another Oh Hae-Young (또! 오해영). She has matured a lot since Roommates. She will be appearing on several variety shows this year. Heo was a ton of kissing scenes in Oh Hae-Young and I mean a ton. She has more kissing scenes than the main couple. Also, she reminds me of my ex-girlfriend :p.

Park Gyu-ri, one of the original members, will be starring in two films (Two Rooms Two Nights & How to Break up with my cat) that will out this year. She also has a single out that is a part of  the Two Rooms Two Nights soundtrack.

Is this the end of 2NE1?

2NE1 was to me the greatest girl group in all of Korea. They were on their way to becoming more known than labelmate Big Bang. It was to be suspected as I think 2NE1 has more talent than Big Bang. But the group has come under fire so much, I doubt that they will be able to pick themselves up. Each member has basically broken off to do their own things.

Park Bom was attacked with plastic surgery allegations, but they slowed down as the group took on the industry and were winning. She was also yelled at for cursing on a variety show called Roommates. She was justified because the incident scared the hell out of her. She was in the backseat of a car with her a few of co-stars. When the idol in the car kind of lost control of the car due to lack of sleep and the car swerved off the road for a moment which resulted in Bom saying something like "oh Shit".
Later Bom was attacked with a drug scandal as "she" had drugs delivered to a family member's house in their name to avoid any type of negative attention. In late 2015, she is under another scandal as people dubbed her a plastic monster for appearing to have undergone another nose job.

But it wasn't just her who was verbally slandered at the latest 2NE1 appearance. As Minzy and CL was also attacked. CL was attacked because she wore a ton of makeup and Minzy for having her nose done. It appears that only 2NE1's international fans are still supporting the girls as their Korean ones are attacking them.

The only one not under fire is Dara, who has returned to acting by starring in a web drama.

There is a lot of negativity about the Korean entertainment world, which is one of the reasons why I started this blog. South Korea is traditionally number 2 or 3 on the list of countries with the highest suicide rates per year. This is a globally rating, which means that Korea has the second highest suicide rate in the whole world. It's the number 1 for plastic surgeries. So before we judge the entertainment industry we must focus on the society of the country.

There are a ton of women in South Korea who have plastic surgery yet they basically try to kill the careers of women who admit to having surgeries. Yet this is the standard method of beauty in the country, so how can this be right? There is a lot of rumors that the idols are basically slaves to the companies they work for. Which is something I agree with, I do believe that these girls and guys are slaves to companies like YG, JYP, etc.

As of now I do believe that YG has to be the shittest manager as his excuse for why Bom's drug scandal was truly hilarious. Plus G-Dragon's numerous scandals and Psy's anti-American scandal. He is fucking up the chance to inspire so many females out there but due to poor management, I believe that YG is killing 2NE1.

CL's solo rap career is ridiculous, her "hello bitches" video was so freaking weak. It wasn't anything but sexual yet this new appearance doesn't really do much for me. In 2NE1, she is sexy but also a badass. Despite how good of a dancer Minzy is, they really aren't doing anything with her. Even Bom has skills but they are not able to manage her well. They even have some kind of business relationship with Will.i.a.m who is one of the most famous musicians in the world and yet they are not properly using that relationship well. It's really sad to this group crash as they were my favorite K-pop group and I believed them to be the best K-pop group in Korea.

Don't be shy to share your opinion.
