2ne1 is now a trio: Minzy officially leaves 2NE1

First, I apologize for my lack of posting. I'm working hard on creating a better quality of life for me. Secondly. I saw a video from Hallyu Back (A Youtube Channel) entitled "2NE1 Breaking Up Permanently". After reading a few articles online, this proved to be true. Sadly, I kind of guess this would happen when I talked about all the hate surrounding 2NE1. I actually thought CL would be the first to leave since she has been working on her solo career a lot.

We can't blame anyone for 2NE1 breaking up. The way that K-pop groups are set up are doomed to fail. It's rare for group members to know each other before they are made into a group. So in a way they are forced to get along for the sake of the group, this could either be great or this can end up poorly. This doesn't really happen in places outside of Asia, it just doesn't really work out a lot. They are forced to perform together when in reality they might have different interests and musical tastes. This can really weigh on someone's psyche.

2NE1 was one of the greatest groups to come out of South Korea. It sucks that YG didn't use them a lot in 2015. A lot of groups do that "comeback" routine which is bullshit. Anyone knows you have to choose the right time to start performing again in most cases the companies choose to wait too long before releasing a track. What fans don't really care about is that the group's are not in control of themselves. They are the contracted slaves of whatever company they signed to. The owners of the companies get to decide the style of the group, the lyrics of the songs, etc. It's not like in America or England in which the group has control over everything.

Sadly, 2NE1 is still contracted to YG until later in this year. 2NE1 was my favorite K-pop group but they really just disappeared in 2015. CL did her badly done "Bad Bitches", Dara was the leading star in several web dramas, and Bom was suffering due to her scandals. What was Minzy doing? Nothing, she doesn't even have her own Wikipedia page. Minzy was contracted to YG way before she was a member of 2NE1 and the group was fully together for 7 years. Minzy does not have a solo song or a solo career for that matter. Bom, CL, and Dara all re-signed with YG so 2NE1 will still be making a comeback later this year as a trio. Although, Minzy didn't really have any real moments as a member of the group. She was really a backup vocalist and the main dancer. I kind of feel like she wanted to break out of being the young one in the background.

I think YG might try to replace Minzy in the future with another younger singer and I don't think that will play out right. 2NE1 had chemistry in all of their performances and videos. That chemistry is hard to re-establish with a new member. I truly believe all blame should fall onto YG for not managing his artists better. Minzy is a great dancer, she could have been featured in other group's videos as a dancer or did the guest vocals on someone else's song. YG did nothing with her talent, so I'm happy that Minzy had the courage to walk away. It sucks having talent and not being able to have your own career. Can you imagine how Minzy felt after all these years watching her fellow 2NE1 members have careers outside the group while she wasn't able to do nothing? It would fucking suck!

Truthfully, I think YG doesn't really care at all about this group. I think he only sees dollar signs because of how famous internationally 2NE1 has gotten. He didn't really even protect Bom with all of her scandals but states he wants to "protect 2NE1".

Tablo Hate: Stanford & Marriage

For those that don't know, Tablo is a Korean rapper who used to appear in "The Return of Superman" alongside his daughter Haru and sometimes his wife Kang Hye Jung. Tablo is not what you would consider a traditional idol, he is a bit old school and true rap fan. I know that he listens to Eminem as he and his friends were listening to a song of his. Anyway, Tablo received a lot of hate for even admitting he was engaged to Kang HyeJung which is a "no-no" for a lot of fans. By that I mean some fans really don't want idols to have a relationship with anyone they often believe the idol belongs to them.

Tablo was attacked by some anti-fans that claimed Tablo forged his college diploma. This was disputed once a Stanford University registrar came to the defense of Tablo. As a star, it's not just you in the spotlight no matter how much you wish it to be only on you. Tablo's mother, brother and other family members were harassed by anti-fans who got Tablo's brother fired from his job.He even left his label because they chose to not defend him. The man lost so much in such a short amount of time. I'm surprised he simply didn't lose it and end up messing his career up. Instead, he came out stronger than ever.

There are still netizens who believe that Tablo is lying and have started a new website after the first one was shut down. I hope Tablo keeps his up and is able to see above all the haters. Just be warned this is always a downside to being in the spotlight no matter how glamorous you think it is.

200 Korean University Professors charged with Plagiarism

In late 2015, it was discovered that over two hundred South Korean university professors were being indicted on counts of copyright violations due to them publishing other people's books in their names. The reason behind this was to pump up their status around campus so they have a higher chance to keep their jobs. That seems a bit stupid when you think about the consequences of stealing someone else's work.

The professors face up to five years in prison and hefty fines. I'm sure they will no longer have their jobs too and most of them will be disgraced unless they have the right connections.
