A baseball player gets banned after he gets mixed up in a scandal. After a few encounters with loan sharks, he is recruited into the company. He becomes close to the boss of the company after the man takes him under his wing. But will that relationship last after the former player falls in love?
Lee Hwan (Lee Min-ki) was at one point a very promising pitcher but after getting involved in a scandal he is forced away from the game. He is recruited by Jeong Sang-ha to join his company and become a loan shark. Lee Hwan is quiet but quite rebellious. He likes to follow his own rules and doesn't like to sit back and watch. Hwan can't drink well as he has trouble operating after just one drink. I couldn't tell if he was weak or strong. At times he is a real badass but other times he gets his ass handed to him. After falling in love with a woman who disappears, his relationship with his boss sours. Hwan decides to get to the bottom of things and find the person responsible for the disappearance of "his" woman. Hwan is a tragic character, we can feel for him but at the same time we don't understand who he truly is.
The only good part of the film was the sex scene but even that was a let down. The film suffers from poor direction, editing, story, and character development. I was a fan of Lee Min-ki's before this film but as I stated it was a bit of a let down. There was no real chemistry between any of the characters. Even the "lovers" had no real connection and wasn't that interesting to watch even when they were having sex. The story was so boring, there wasn't a whole lot to it. Which means it was quite simple and uninteresting. Apparently this is the debut of the director as I can't find anymore film credits of his. If you watch this film you can definitely tell that this is either a student film or someone who wasn't fully ready to direct a film on a higher scale.
