The Outlaw

A twisted movie that will excite you as much as it might disgust you.

"Det. Oh Jeong-su (Kam Woo-Sung) is a detective for the homicide division. A killer appears who kills in a seemingly random manner. Det. Oh Jeong-su decides to take revenge against the killer, even if it forces him to work outside the law ..."-aw

The events that happen in the movie are pretty twisted especially in the beginning and the middle which act as a catalyst on why the main character snaps becoming a true outlaw.

Detective Oh Jeong Su is a man that is just doing his job which he does well. Eventually he rescues a woman who was kept as a sex slave by a group of murdering cannibals. He attempts to start a life with that woman to the point she gets pregnant. Sadly he loses her due to her memories all of the vicious crimes that have happened to her. When he is about to be reunited with his family, they are taken away from him in the most brutal manner. Now the detective any must decide to follow the law or make his own. This the kind of character that almost everyone would cheer for.

Han So-Young was an internal affairs officer who was in charge of Oh Jeong Su's investigation. She also happens to be his former neighbor when she was in high school. From the beginning of the story you can tell that So-Young is in love with Oh Jeong Su and has pulled strings in order to be in charge of his case. She is one of the people in the film that is suppose to represent the light since she is a innocent woman. She does all she can in order to save the main character but realizes what she must do in the end.

Everyone did a great job with this film as the acting was quite believable. I have to say that the director could  have done a better job with some of the scenes but overall a decent job. The lighting was good as it served its purpose but this movie should have chosen more natural lighting in order to give it a more realistic feel. Kam Woo-Sung did a remarkable job in this heartbreaking crime thriller that might make you sick of society and life in general.
