Unspoken: The Man From Nowhere

A truly amazing action thriller that you wish there were a badass sequel to.

Operating a pawn shop in a small neighborhood, the non-sociable Cha Tae-sik (Won Bin) now leads a quiet life. His only connection to the rest of the world is a little girl, So-mi, who lives next door. So-mi’s mother, Hyo-jeong, is a heroin addict who steals drugs from a feared organized crime group. She pawns her camera bag to Tae-sik; he does not realize it has the stolen drugs inside. When a powerful crime lord finds out about the gang's stolen drugs, orders his associate and subordinate Man-Seok to retrieve the drugs. When Man-Seok's henchmen find out where the drugs are, by torturing Hyo-jeong, they proceed to kidnap her and her daughter-wiki

Cha Tae-sik (Won Bin) is a complicated man that just wants to be left alone. His only real contact with the outside world is with customers and this outgoing little girl named So-mi (Kim Sae-ron). At first he is like the silent older brother to So-mi but you feel like his feelings are more like a fathers. It is her kidnapping that causes Tae-sik to reenter the world with a bang. Tae-sik is a master at using violence and you get to slowly enjoy his every appearance.

So-mi (Kim Sae-ron) is the ray of light in this film, she has an innocent soul that has grown mature do to the life around her. She enjoys barging into Tae-sik's life whenever she gets the chance to. Her kidnapping leads Tae-sik to go after her using any means possible. She doesn't appear in the film a lot but she is key element to the film as she is the only thing that is keeping Tae-sik alive anymore.

The action scenes in the film was beyond amazing especially the last one. They had me on the edge of my seat enjoying every simple moment of it. At the end of the film I was pumped up to the point that I thought I just had saw 300 again. It is rare to this hair raising feeling from watching a movie. Truly Won Bin earned his salary on this film and I hope we can see him take on another role like this one. This film is a thousand times better than Taken and Taken 2. This film has more feelings and a better plot than most movies in its genre.

I have no complaints about the direction nor the lighting, I enjoyed every moment of this film. This is an action thriller you should never want to miss. I suggest this film to anyone that likes great action thrillers.
