Our Town

An exciting horror film with a great cast

"A neighbourhood is terrorized by a serial killer who kills and hangs his female victims in a uniquely specific way . When struggling crime fiction novelist Kyung-ju kills his landlady, he stages it to resemble the other murders. Realizing that the crime appears to be a copycat, he sets out to find the killer with the help of his detective friend." -wiki

A nicely scripted horror film that will reveal itself slowly to the point you may understand everything perfectly. Basically this film is like a puzzle, you'll understand where its going as you discover connecting pieces.

Gyeong-ju (Oh Man-Seok) is a horror writer who is down on his luck. He owes rent, his story doesn't get accepted and his landlady locked him out of his own apartment. Enraged Gyeong-ju kills her and puts her body out in a park to make it look like the work of the local serial killer. As the story goes on we discover more of his secrets that may reveal why everything turned out the way it did.

Jae-shin (Lee Sun-Kyun) is Gyeong-ju's best friend and a cop. He is doing his best in order to solve the crimes that have happened in his town. He is clueless at first to what Gyeong-ju has done but as the story goes on he discovers what his best friend has done and we get to see what Jae-shin did in the past that caused Gyeong-ju to be who he is today.

Hyo-E (Ryu Deok-Hwan) runs the local store and lives a pretty simple life except for the fact that he is mentally unfit and a truly confused individual. He is smart, that's one reason why he has yet to be caught by the police. Though in the end you may rethink everything you know about this character and why he is who he is. Is he an original serial killer or is he the actual copycat?

Everyone did a great job in this film, my only wish is that it was longer and had a slightly better script. The acting is there but a little more could have been better. I enjoyed the development of the characters and story. The message of the film is simple but very effective and very clear to anyone who watches the film.
I suggest this film to horror fans!
