A Building Inferno of Glass: The Tower

"On Christmas Eve, at the luxurious Tower Sky twin tower building in central Seoul, residents and staff members busy themselves with Christmas preparation. A small fire in the restaurant kitchen attracts the attention of Tower Sky staff member Lee Dae-Ho (Kim Sang-Kyung), who notices a faulty water sprinkler system. Building owner Jo (Cha In-Pyo) disregards the warning and goes ahead with the evening's Christmas party. Helicopters are hired to circle the building and spray the building with man made snow during the Christmas party. Residents gathered for the event are amazed by the spectacle. Their amazement soon turns into terror when a helicopter loses control and crashes into the building, setting off a chain off horrifying events that threatens the lives of all the residents. "

Honestly, there were only a few good moments in the film, I tried to like it but I believe it was a failure. I didn't watch the American version until after I watched this film and honestly I like the American version better.
To me, the best character in the film was played by Sol Kyung-Gu.

Kang Young-Ki was an interesting character who is a hardnosed veteran firefighter who often puts his work first before his family. He pushes the main character Lee Dae-Ho to be more of a man rather than crying every moment.

Lee Dae Ho (Kim Sang-Kyung) was cool at first but his character become a very poor character. He cries over every little thing instead of being a strong father for his daughter. He really annoyed me and yet he still gets the woman in the end.

Son Ye-Jin still managed to be a great actress and even beautiful while being covered with ash. Seo Yun-Hee (Son Ye-Jin) is such a cute character, she is willing to be a mother figure to the main character's daughter. She proves herself to be a good woman who might be in love with the main character prior to the chaos.

I didn't like this film, but some of you might because of the cameos and the thrill of the explosions. But I wish the characters were better developed. I know that is hard due to the film being a disaster film.

(So adorable!)

2/5
